Use the downtime caused by COVID-19 to get your child’s school immunizations taken care of at the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County’s (DOH-Citrus) no-cost immunization clinics starting on Monday, July 20.

Immunizations are offered Monday thru Friday by appointment only beginning on July 20 until Aug. 14 at DOH-Citrus, 3700 W. Sovereign Path in Lecanto. DOH-Citrus will also provide one Saturday clinic on July 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To make an appointment, call 352-527-0247 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Parents and guardians should bring ID, the child’s birth certificate, social security card and immunization record, if available.

“Don’t let the fight against COVID-19 cause you to forget about the importance of protecting your children from other serious diseases,” said DOH-Citrus Administrator Ernesto “Tito” Rubio. “We encourage parents to take this time to get ahead and avoid the back-to-school rush.”
