To allow opportunities for individuals who work during the day to get vaccinated, the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County (DOH-Citrus) is providing weekend and evening COVID-19 vaccination clinics starting on Saturday, May 1, at the new Duke Energy/DOH-Citrus COVID-19 Vaccination Site in Crystal River.

First and second doses of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine will be provided at the new site, located at 8200 W. Venable St., by appointment or by walk-in on the following days and times throughout May:

  • Saturday and Sunday, May 1-2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Previously scheduled first and second dose appointments will be honored at the Duke Energy/DOH-Citrus site only. Individuals with previously scheduled appointments are asked to keep their appointment dates and times.

Depending on demand at these clinics, DOH-Citrus plans to provide these weekend and evening clinics throughout May and reassess its strategy come June.

To expedite the registration process at the clinic, DOH-Citrus is asking residents to complete the Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Screening and Consent prior to arriving to the site. Consent forms are available on the DOH-Citrus website.

Individuals 18 years and older can schedule a vaccine appointment on the days and times listed above by visiting or by calling 866-201-0442 TTY 833-476-1036.

Information regarding future vaccine clinics will be shared with local media outlets, posted online at or on Twitter at @FLHealthCitrus.
