Death Certificates Information 

The Florida Department of Health in Citrus County issues death certificates for people who have passed away in any Florida county from 2009 to the present. Death Certificates for other years must be requested from the State Office of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville.

Fees:

• $13 each certified copy, additional copies are $13

The Vital Statistics Office in Lecanto is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.

Include the following information:

• A photocopy of your driver's license for identification

• Name of deceased

• Date of death

• Place of death

• Funeral home establishment

• Relationship to decedent or reason for getting the certificate
