New Diabetes Program to Address County’s Diabetes Rate
Citrus County, Fla. — Beginning November 5, 2025, the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County (DOH-Citrus) will offer a diabetes program, Prevent2T Curriculum, to help address and prevent Citrus County’s diabetes rates.
Classes will meet every Wednesday from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at DOH-Citrus’ main location:

In Citrus County, nearly 12% of the adult population are living with diabetes. The 16-week workshop helps those with pre-diabetes manage the symptoms of diabetes and work toward improving their overall health. Prevent2T is designed for participants to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, bond with others who share their struggles, and learn to manage symptoms, with the overall goal of preventing type 2 diabetes.
