Diabetes Empowerment Education Program

Discover fresh, practical ways to manage your diabetes and live a healthier life.

Co-sponsored by the Department of Health in Citrus County (DOH-Citrus) and Elder Options, our certified instructors will help you navigate the world of diabetes and learn the tools and resources needed to manage your disease and live your healthiest life.

Participants receive tools and information to manage and take control of your health.  The program teaches you:

• How to enhance and maintain your quality of life.
• Prevent complications.
• Learn mindful choices for proper nutrition.
• Enhance physical activity.
• Strengthen personal support systems.
• Foster relationships with healthcare providers.

Led by DOH-Citrus staff, DEEP™ is presented FREE of charge.   Classes meet for 2 hours over a 6-week time frame in various locations around the county.

Whether you’ve been diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes, you can live a healthy, fulfilling life!
