Volunteer Healthcare Provider Program

Fifteen percent of people living in Citrus County do not have health insurance. Nearly 20 percent of Citrus County residents did not see a healthcare provider in the last year and 13 percent reported that they could not see a healthcare provider due to cost.

By donating your time and expertise, you can help our community receive the care they could otherwise not receive. The care you provide can reduce barriers people face due to cost and help our community be as healthy as possible. 

Volunteer healthcare providers are eligible to receive a waiver for their biannual license fees and a maximum of 25 percent of their continuing education hours required for license renewal.

• Dentists and dental hygienists: can receive up to 7 continuing education credits every 2 years
• Medical doctors: can receive up to 5 continuing education credits every 2 years
• Osteopathic physicians: can receive up to 10 continuing education credits every 2 years
