Over time, diabetes can cause serious health issues, such as heart disease, vision loss, and kidney disease.
When you join a lifestyle change program, you will learn, laugh, share stories, try new things and build new habits that can last a lifetime.
Whether your focus is on preventing type 2 diabetes or managing it, we can help support you in one of our three programs.

Prevent t2
The Prevent T2 workshop is designed for individuals who have been diagnosed with prediabetes or who want to change their lifestyle habits to prevent developing type 2 diabetes.
The program teaches participants how to manage their weight, become more physically active, and manage stress. Participants receive support from a lifestyle coach who guides them in making positive changes in their nutrition, physical activity, and weight, with a focus on improving their overall quality of life.
Classes are presented at no cost and meet for two hours over a 16-week schedule and are held in partnership with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Prevent T2 curriculum and the Florida Diabetes Prevention Program.

Diabetes Support Group
DOH-Citrus hosts two diabetes support groups each month. Groups participate in Q&A sessions, hear guest speakers offer advice on managing symptoms, and share recipes and tips with each other.
